Iceland is probably one of the most exotic countries to study, because of it’s amazing location and climate and the well-organized small society that offers interesting new point of views to many bigger countries. Iceland has a total of seven universities, in addition to some smaller schools that also offer high education diplomas. Most of the Icelandic education institutions, almost all, are public. There are only some exceptions of private schooling in Iceland, although those exception also receive public funding.
The international students are very welcome to Iceland, in fact some 5 % of all the students in Iceland are foreign students. As similar to the Norwegian mentality, the Icelandic do not forget the closeness of the nature in their educational life. With all the spectacular sceneries and nature experiences that Iceland offers, studying in the country is always linked to the numerous natural and cultural visits, that make of Iceland a spectacular place to visit, to live and to study.
