The young Danish singer Soluna Samay is the representative of Denmark for the Eurovision song contest 2012. The singer will participate with the song “Should’ve Known Better” in the contest to be held on May 26 in Baku, Azerbayián.
Soluna Samay is a very young and promising singer with only 22 years born in Guatemala. Daughter of a German father and a Swiss mother, her family moved to the Danish island of Bornholm in 2000, where the singer has lived ever since. Samay started to play music in the early age of 5, playing drums and singing together with her father, a professional musician, and ended up for years as the singer of the group Gee Gee & Soluna, with which she recorded a total of seven albums, The Beat Goes on (2001), Thinking Of You (2004),Movin ‘On (2006), Lucky Seven (2007), Just Passing Through (2008), Streetwise (2009) and The Best & the Rest (2011).
As solo singer Soluna Samay debuted in 2011 with the album “Sing Out Loud” published by Baltic Records.
The song to be performed in the Eurovision Song Contest “Should’ve Known Better” is the work of Remee Remee and Isam B. The young singer won with this song the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2012 –song contest in Denmark last January, and therefore was chosen as the official representative of Denmark for the Eurovision song contest.
