The Swedish singer Loreen was proclaimed winner of the Eurovision song contest on Saturday 26 May in Baku, Azerbaijan with her song “Euphoria”.
Lorine Zineb Noka, which is how the singer is called actually, took the win with a total of 372 points leaving behind the graceful Russian Buranovskiye Babushk– grandmothers, who got second place, and the representative of Serbia Zeljo Joksimovic who took the third place.
Of Moroccan origin, the Swedish singer’s career began in 2004 in the television competition Idols in Sweden, after which she continued working as a singer and television presenter.
As Loreen had previously been chosen as the winner of Melodifestivalen 2012, where she became the official candidate of Sweden for the Eurovision contest, now she has definitely become the ultimate winner by carrying off the Eurovision Song Contest. The song “Euphoria” is composed and written by Thomas G: son and Peter Boström. Loreen was the second candidate to achieve the most points in the history of the festival after the Norwegian Alexander Rybak, who won the contest in 2009.
