The past week, from November 30 to December 5 was held in London the inaugural edition of Nordic Film Festival, an independent festival focused on Nordic films organized by Londoner production company Day For Night.
This new festival is a unique initiative within UK as to create a film festival dedicated to the Nordic countries , with the intention of exhibiting and distributing films from Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Iceland, including both current and past nordic filmmaking.
Nordic Film Festival took place in three London cinemas; Riverside Studios, Ciné Lumière and Prince Charles Cinema, the initiative being promoted by Nordisk Film & TV Fond, The Embassy of Denmark in London, The Royal Norwegian Embassy in London, The Embassy of Sweden in London, Danish Film Institute, Swedish Film Institute, Finnish Film Foundation (Suomen Elokuvasäätiö) and the brands Tuborg , Cooper & Wolf, MUBI, Skandium and Aesthetica.
